Learn to Scuba dive all year round with PADI at Wild Blue

Wild Blue's PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water Course is the world's most popular scuba diving course and is your first step into the adventure and enjoyment of underwater diving. Millions of people around the world have learnt to dive with PADI and it's certification is recognised internationally and qualifies you to scuba dive with a buddy to a depth of 18 metres anywhere in the world.

New Zealand has more divers per head of population than any other country in the world and its popularity here is still increasing. With so much coastline and so many great diving spots it's no wonder that so many kiwis are getting into diving.

Feedback from the course -
"The team at Wild Blue in Hamilton went out of their way to help me get through the online course and pool dives, so that I could do my open water dives on a recent trip to Fiji. Tania and David are really knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. The whole experience was awesome." - Pip Willoughby. May 2017

The PADI Open Water Diver Course consists of three main sections:

1st stage is the PADI elearning section. For your convenience this is done by you at home in your own time, at your own pace.

After you have completed your elearning, you're ready for the confined water section. This is done locally in 2 sessions in a swimming pool with our instructor David, giving you the basic skills of scuba diving.

Open Water:
After that you have a couple of choices to complete your course. We give you a referral to take to any PADI provider you choose to book the open water section yourself or we can book it for you.
There are plenty of options for doing this depending on what suits you. You could complete it in Tauranga, Auckland, Rotorua, Whakatane, New Plymouth, Tutukaka or on holiday on a tropical reef in Fiji or Rarotonga.

Course Cost:
The cost for the elearning and confined water section is $300.00. (This includes rental of BCD, regs, tank wetsuit and weights). Extra cost for the hire of personal gear ( mask, snorkel, boots and fins) $90.00
For comfort and hygiene reasons, many people prefer to use their own equipment. If you would like the piece of mind and comfort of your own gear, you can purchase your own package deal for as little as $149.00.
